Some have incredible color vibrancy, some emphasize brightness, others have better sharpness, some have higher quality sound bars and others are more affordable UST projectors.
We're specifically excluding ultra short throw projectors (aka laser TVs) from this list and are focusing on 4K home theater projectors powered by lasers. You can find the list of the best ultra short throw projectors here.
When assembling this list, we weighed all of these factors to help us compare this wide assortment of projectors.

This projector ranking can help you pick the right choice to fulfill your needs and wants. So, without further ado, here's our list of the top 10 best 4K laser projectors for home theaters.
When you factor together a combination of performance, price and value, our #1 pick for the best 4k laser projector is the JVC DLA-NZ7. Not only can this projector showcase 4K content it’s capable of displaying an 8K resolution projection. This means you’re getting the highest resolution possible while futureproofing your investment for the content of the future. The JVC NZ7 offers incredible black levels and contrast. Their contrast is so good in fact, that they list the more realistic native contrast as opposed to the exaugurated dynamic contrast ratios other manufacturers use. This new home theater JVC has a crystal clear sharpness and some of the most vibrant colors you’ll ever see from a projector. If you’ve got the money to spend the JVC DLA-NZ7 is 100% worth every penny.

When you buy the LS11000 you get tremendously vivid colors and some fantastic black levels. It even features a sub 20ms lag time for all you gamers out there. The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 can transform virtually any room into the ultimate 4K DIY home theater experience. I know we said no ultra short throw projectors, but the Hisense PX2-Pro is built for home movie theaters and is just too good not to include on this list of laser based cinema projectors. While most other laser TVs are built for bright rooms, PX2-Pro however is built to be a home theater projector. (Though when paired with a UST projector screen it works solidly in a well lit room.) This true RGB triple laser projector offers a gorgeous picture that surpasses just about every other laser TV and many of the other 4K home cinema projectors. While it doesn’t have the black levels of a JVC projector, the TriChroma PX2-Pro still provides very good contrast (and is a big improvement over its predecessor the Hisense PX1-Pro) and it covers an astounding 107% of the BT.2020 color gamut. If you already have a cinema screen this triple laser UST should be at the top of your list.

The BenQ LK936ST isn’t your typical home theater projector. This 5100 lumen laser projector is much brighter making it ideal for a multi-purpose media room with lots of ambient light. As a short throw projector it’s not just a great cinema projector, but also makes for one of the best golf sim projectors. If you want to have a home theater that doubles as a multi-purpose room (especially if you love indoor golf) the BenQ LK936ST is a great choice.

Speaking of super bright 4K laser projectors, like our #5 ranked projector, at #5, the Optoma UHZ65LV is hard to beat. This 5000 lumen laser projector provides a bright and vibrant image in just about any room of your house. Like its sibling, the LS11000, the Epson LS12000 is a fantastic home theater projector powered by a laser light source. These two projectors are very similar except that the LS12000 is a bit brighter and supposedly has a better contrast ratio. (Though in our testing the contrast ratios were barely distinguishable, you can see the Epson projector comparison here.) The Epson Home Cinema LS12000 also comes in a black chassis and is packaged with a mount and decorative cable cover. It also comes with a $1,000 higher price tag which is why the LS12000 ends up as our #6 best laser projector for home theaters.

The 7th place top laser projector on our list is the Formovie X5. This lifestyle projector made the rankings less so for pure performance and more so for its versatility and features. That being said the visuals output by this unit were enough to win the 2023 Lifestyle Projector Showdown. With a contrast of 1200:1 (Full On/Off), 2450 CVIA lumens of brightness, ALPD laser technology for deep black levels and over 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, this multi-function projector offers an outstanding worthy of less discerning home theater enthusiasts.
The low price under $2,000 for a laser home theater projector gives it a tremendous edge over many other options.
This laser projector is also very compact, lightweight and portable making it a great choice to use for a smart all-in-one outdoor movie projector. It even features a robust built in speaker and autofocus/auto-keystoning for easy on-the-go capabilities.

Unlike the higher end JVC laser projectors, the JVC LX-NZ30B is a more moderately priced home theater projector. This 3300 lumen projector is a DLP projector as opposed to JVC’s other projectors that use the more advanced LCoS chipset. Much like JVC’s other projectors on this list, the LX-NZ30B is an outstanding choice though because it's more of a gaming projector, it finds itself lower on our list of the best 4K laser projector for home theaters. If you’re a gamer the JVC LX-NZ30B is one of the best video game projectors you can buy.

The LG HU810P is our pick for 10th best laser home theater projector. This is an all around good but not fantastic option. It has solid brightness, sharpness, color, black levels, contrast and even has a built in speaker. Like the Formovie X5, the LG HU810P makes a good outdoor projector for movie nights under the stars thanks to it its more compact size, in addition to being an indoor cinema projector.
