Kaleidescape, the leader in premium home theater movie platforms, has unveiled its latest advancement in movie player technology: the new Strato V. This new media player delivers breathtaking 4K Dolby Vision playback with lossless audio and functions independently or as part of a broader Kaleidescape system with separate media servers for additional storage.
By Kaleidescape making it a standalone player with built in movie storage, the new Strato V addresses the desire of many home theater enthusiasts to have a more budget friendly, entry level price point. The additional offering of Dolby Vision with lossless audio at is also a major upgrade for film lovers.
This innovation reflects Kaleidescape's ongoing commitment to excellence, integrating advanced electronics and playback capabilities while upholding their high-performance standards.
As a standalone device, Strato V serves as a single playback zone, storing approximately 10 reference-quality 4K movies on an internal solid-state drive. It boasts a newly streamlined interface designed for easy navigation of a smaller movie library. The Strato V can download a Kaleidescape 4K movie in as little as 10 minutes over Gigabit Ethernet, even during playback, without any loss in performance. Downloads are eligible for automatic deletion 48 hours after viewing, freeing up space for new content.
For expanded storage, Strato V can be paired with Terra Prime movie servers, reverting its interface to the full Kaleidescape experience. Multiple Strato V players can be connected to one or more Terra servers, allowing scalability to fit any installation.
Strato V features enhanced electronics and grounding topology, including lossless player-side decoding for high-bitrate audio codecs, ensuring top-tier sound quality with a variety of downstream components. Every signal has been meticulously upgraded for superior quality and reliability.
Aesthetically speaking, this new premium media player is encased in a sleek black anodized aluminum and glass chassis, combining performance with stylish design.
Just like with their previous players, Strato V users have access to the Kaleidescape movie store, the world's sole provider of digital movies with lossless audio and full reference video quality. The store offers thousands of 4K and HD titles, including movies, TV series, and concerts, with over a hundred titles available in Dolby Vision and more on the way. Content comes with lossless multichannel and object-based audio, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Customers can choose between the Strato V and the Strato C movie players based on their specific needs. The Strato V is ideal for new users and who already have Dolby Vision-compatible TVs or projectors, or older audio equipment that does not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS:HD decoding. Meanwhile, the Strato C is suited for existing Kaleidescape customers with a Co-Star configuration or extensive HD content libraries.
