Online retailer, ProjectorScreen.com has announced that they will be hosting the 3rd annual UST Projector Showdown. For 2024, they are partnering with Projector Reviews, one of the industry’s leading authority on all things projectors to produce this highly anticipated event.
At the 2022 and 2023 shootout, the Formovie Theater was declared the winner by the expert panel of judges. But with a new crop of ultra short throw projectors, who will be crowned as this year's champion?
The 2024 UST Projector Showdown will put the hottest and newest ultra short throw projectors side-by-side to establish the best performing laser TV models in this explosive category.
On Saturday November 16th, the one-day event will be hosted at ProjectorScreen.com's New Jersey headquarters. The competition will take place in their large high-end showroom with enough space to simultaneously view all of the projectors in action on matching ambient-light rejecting UST screens.
Running the event as a fully independent administrator will be Phillip Jones the Lead Technical Reviewer at Projector Reviews. Phil has over 24 years of experience in the home theater industry and is thrilled to be overseeing this year's projection showdown. As an editorial entity with no stake who wins, Phil will design and administer the evaluation protocols for the invited judges.
Judging this competition will be a collection of renown influencers, reviewers and projection experts.
Each projector will be selected from stock so there are no "golden samples." This ensures a total fairness for each competitor. By having all of the projectors side-by-side in the same room the different models can be evaluated without any recency bias.
The projectors in the competition will be judged by a team of display experts across multiple criteria and use-cases. These include bright-room and dark-room viewing, as well as HDR and SDR content.
