This is our first projector and we've only had it for less than a week so far, but it's definitely met our aspirations for bringing a theater experience into the living room. The picture quality is amazing, does not feel like there is any compromise coming from a relatively new 65" LED TV and that alone exceeded my expectations. On the other hand, the size just transforms the experience whether it's live sports, movies, or just binge streaming a series - everything feels significantly more immersive and it's a real pleasure to watch.

Setup of the projector itself was very straight forward, it updated to the newest firmware without a hitch and configured the wifi and settings from my android phone smoothly. I have it connected via eArc to a Sonos ARC, sub and surrounds again without any issues. I'm also using a Shield Pro with it primarily for streaming and that transferred from the TV to the projector without any issue hdmi-cec worked for both without any work. Still tweaking the picture settings but have no real complaints with the image out of the box. Dolby Vision seems to work fine from the Shield, I kinda like the notification tag it adds to the screen for a few seconds when starting compatible content (vision and atmos). Haven't played with streaming games over the Shield too much yet but looking forward to messing with that next.

The Spectra screen was definitely more work to assemble, but the mounting mechanism with the height adjustments in the brackets made that easier than I had expected too. The finished product looks great and works really well even with reasonably high ambient light. I do have blackout shades for the wall of windows facing the Arizona sun next to it, but it's still entirely usable in less than ideal lighting conditions.

Couple of quirks that I've also seen documented on the AVSForums too, but willing to live with them and hoping they get addressed in future firmware releases.

-WIFI periodically cuts out entirely - the unit can't see any available networks until reset/rebooted. With the Shield on a Gig LAN connection it doesn't impact me much, but would be more of an issue if you were relying on the built in media apps for everyday use.

-If you disable the built in speakers it throws an alert window you have to close every time the unit is brought out of sleep asking you to confirm the setting.

I can live with those quirks, but it would be nice to see them addressed down the road.

As you can see from the pics, I have the projector mounted inside an Ikea Besta TV stand and that took some modifications such as adding a TV slide unit and cutting holes for a pair of USB fans to help with air circulation, but the final result is pretty clean and the projector slides away neatly and is protected when not in use.

Joe was great putting together the order quickly and helping me deal with some unique shipping challenges. Felt much better making the decision to give the Formovie a try based on their reviews, participation in public forums, and hosting events such as the projector shoot-outs. Strongly recommend working with the ProjectorScreen team if you're thinking about making the plunge like we did!

I was skeptical but after much research and testing a few UST projectors, this one is truly the cream of the crop. The picture out of the box is stunning! I have an 120" ALR screen and it just cooks even with the kitchen lights on full blast. Turn my lights to TV mode and BOOM! It truly is the most gorgeous projector I've ever had and the Keystone Correction really sends it home because I couldn't get the picture lined up just right even with the proper measurements.

I was worried but after the calibration tools, wow. I haven't even messed with any of the picture settings!

Pros: I have it connected via ethernet to my router and projecting onto a wall-mounted motorized 92" Vividstorm ARL screen. The image quality is like sitting in a theater and the sound quality is very good. Very easy to set up, add apps, and switch sources.

Cons: Cannot easily get Netflix on the Android IOS. Cannot load my own photos for screensaver.

Overall: Would definitely recommend.

I've had this a few months, and read many reviews and owners comments on the forums. I know there have been issues with software and wireless connectivity for some, but I don't use it that way. Other than calibrating it, I don't use any of the software on the machine, but run my sources of Zidoo and Roku (local content and streaming) through an AVR and let that do the work. So I use the supplied remote only to turn the machine on and off. Under that regime, I've had no troubles whatsoever.

Picture quality to me is excellent, both SDR and HDR. I purchased a Vertex2 to play around with LLDV, but honestly I haven't gotten around to it because I haven't been tempted to spend the time. Every now and then I'll get a movie or TV episode that plays a little dark, but it isn't often enough to cause me concern. I don't have an ALR screen, but I'm in a batcave with black walls behind, top, and a few feet back left and right. My non-ALR screen is supposedly transparent to sound, but I managed not to use it that way, and it's still fine. When the room is dark, the picture is often just flat stunning, and I easily prefer watching it to TVs in the house. You definitely lose some of this with even a small amount of light in the room, so I would recommend anyone in that situation looking at one of the better ALR screens out there. I think I've gotten away with a non-ALR screen only because I have a light situation that supports that. I use a 120" screen.

Many have commented on the upper left not focusing as well as the other corners. On the calibration screen I see it. Most go on to say that in practice, watching content this is a non-issue, and I'd agree with that also. I never think about it, but to be fair just wanted to mention it here. I have the picture calibrated to the specs recommended here on the projectorscreen website, and I've been more than happy.

I can't really comment on the sound - from day one I was going to run an AVR. There's not much room above the projector to mount a center channel speaker, but this is true of all UST projectors. I wound up with the center channel speaker in a table underneath angled up to my ears, and it's not great, but passable.

In short, since my room configuration doesn't support a standard projector, I needed to go UST, and after reading a lot of reviews, decided this one would give me excellent picture quality, and I am completely chuffed with what I see, and enjoy showing it off. Top marks.

Excellent Picture Quality! Some annoyances

Really love this projector! It's doable in a living room environment with a CLR screen. At night in a light controlled room it's phenomenal! I only have a few minor gripes, the Google OS and assistant are really obnoxious! You have to really have to dig deep Into the settings to remove launch apps that constantly hound you to connect to wifi or setup Google voice assistant. If you use the physical mute switch on the projector, there are four obnoxious yellow LED's that can't be turned off (as far as I know). The Google sign in screen will just pop up occasionally, fortunately this only happens a few times a week at most. I get it Google you really want to spy on me lol, but aren't my phone and email enough? Another minor issue is 1080P@120hz gaming, sometimes the entire screen is green. Simply pressing the power button to put the projector to sleep, then pressing the power button to wake the projector resolves the issue. I gladly put up with these minor annoyances for the excellent picture quality and Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision is absolutely amazing with the lights off!
