Assembly and mounting of the screen is a 2 person job. We were most cautious installing the tensioning springs. We started at the middles and worked our way out and had no issues. The instructions/included parts seem for all screen sizes so since I got the smallest 90" I got a few extra parts that I didn't need. We didn't need the heavier rate springs, for example.

I have a Hisense PX1-Pro. In my review of the projector you can see pictures of the image on the wall. Using a 90" measured wall projection as a guide, I marked the bottom hole of the mounting brackets ~4.5" from the top edge and ~21" in from each side. There is concrete behind the drywall so that took a little more time to get the anchors embedded but after they were in, we test hung the screen and it was level without any adjustments. Since the screen sits ~2.5" off the wall, I had to move the projector ~1.5" further from the wall to get the picture to fit. I was able to get the image squared adjusting the projector feet/rotation. The screen bottom edge ended up 3/16" further away from the wall than the top edge using the included bottom spacer but that apparently wasn't a problem. I had to adjust the focus on the projector ~10 steps to get the image crisp.

The daytime image was taken with ~476 lux, measured at the seating position, of light coming in from the right of the screen through a sliding glass door 6 feet away. I reset all the picture settings to default and am using the following for Vivid which is the daytime viewing setting:

Laser: 7

Contrast: 50

Brightness: 67

Color: 48

Sharpness: 15

Temperature: Mid-Low

Gamma: 2.2

I did a lot of research on which screen to buy to go along with my LG HP715QW projector. Having come from a Da-Lite Permwall screen and an Epson 5040 standard projector, I had some concerns going to an Ultra Short Throw projector as far as setup and picture quality. In the end, setting up the Spectra Vantage screen and LG HP715QW was just as easy, if not easier, than installing the old setup and the picture is fantastic.

Assembly of the screen is a bit time consuming. It took me just over 3 hours doing it myself. This is partly because I don't really have a "mechanical" mind, so I took my time laying out the pieces and figuring out how everything went together. I like to think I saved time on installation of a standard projector by not having to run cables through the ceiling. My one wish would be to have the part numbers on the frame pieces to make identifying them easier. Buy by methodically using the instruction manual, I was able to get everything together with zero issues and no wrinkles in the screen. Now if my stand for the projector would just get here (the projector is sitting on its box in the photos.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with the screen. Thank you to Projectorscreen.com for the presale advice and making this a pleasurable transaction.

I have had the Formovie Theater projector over a week now and I feel like I can finally write an honest review. I am using a Spectra Vantage 120" ALR screen and it is absolutely amazing! I read hundreds of reviews regarding all different projectors and their pros/cons. I can honestly say this projector lives up to the hype! I have the screen + projector in my living so I do not have the lighting conditions completely done yet but it is still amazing even during the day. At night, its breathtaking and just straight up incredible to have the experience of watching shows and movies on a big screen in my living room. I have it connected to my Apple TV 4K through my Denon X2800H AVR and it all works perfectly. I turn on my Apple TV and it automatically turns on the AVR and the Formovie projector. I do have surround sound speakers so I can not really give much insight into the projectors speakers themselves but the few times i have used them, they sound great!

Setting up the projector was a breeze and once you get it positioned, you never want to turn it off! I read online about all of the color correction that you had to do to make it look good but I was blown away with the projector right out of the box! Without any color correction on the setting menu, I thought it was amazing! I am not the most cinemaphile or movie buff but I thought even without any correction, everything looked great. The Apple TV 4K does have a color bar that you can bring up on the screen and compare how colors looked in factory settings versus the calibration settings provided on projectorscreen.com. Projectorscreen.com settings did improve the picture but i honestly cant tell by how much. I just know it did make it slightly better but thats not to say that factory settings are unwatchable.

Depending what device/app you stream from, you do get different quality of picture. Streaming from Apple+/amazon prime video/netflix will give you much better picture quality versus streaming videos from the youtube app, even on AppleTV 4K, but thats just how it goes. It is the same quality comparison as viewing on my computer.

I have attached some pictures for you to see yourself the quality that this projector/projector screen combo can produce! I have pictures from nighttime and day time. My living has blinds on the windows and if I am watching during the day, they are closed but it's not blackout at all. I still have to order and install some better window treatments. Even on a sunny afternoon with the windows closed, the picture is great!

(please disregard the ripples in the screen.. I am planning to fix that when i have an extra set of hands to help with taking the screen down and redoing the springs so they done at the same time for equal tension all around. Even with the ripples, the picture looks incredible and i forget they are there)

(Also, there is a slight halo of light around the screen, i have read that is an issue with the these types of projectors but I also have used keystone correction a little just to get the picture to fit perfectly. I am going to have to move the projector to fix the screen and i didnt want to waste time getting the projector positioned just to move it again. I have bought but not installed large velvet theater curtains to hang around the screen to mask the halo effect and give a more movie theater type experience)

I enjoyed the experience of being able to call a ProjectorScreen.com and ask for advice. They recommended the Formovie 4k projector pared with the Spectra Screen. After installation I was amazed by the light rejection of the screen during the day. Guests think my setup is a TV, little do they know it’s a projection set up! Great customer service, great support, prompt shipping. Nothing but good words to say about these products and ProjectorScreen.com!

I recently purchased the Formovie Theater and Spectra Projection Vantage 120" UST ALR CLR Projector Screen. My wife who is my helper and I are both 77 years old, but we were able to put the screen together and hang it taking our time and working carefully. I have owned a previous Overhead projector and automated Shepherd screen but we moved and had to leave them behind. I have been monitoring UST projectors as I have a good 5.1 sound system and have waited for the technology to catch up with 4K and DolbyVision and HDR. Happily, I recently found rave reviews for the Formovie Theater and after watching multiple Youtube videos decided to take the plunge. I am delighted with the result to date. Setup for the projector was relatively straightforward and fairly easy. The colors projected are remarkably good. I have 3 LG OLED tv's in the house, 2 65 inch models and a 77 inch model recently purchased. I previously owned Pioneer Kuro Plasma sets and have always been a stickler for the best picture I could purchase. The Formovie is very close to the color and clarity I am used to with the OLED technology. I am quite delighted with the purchase. My theater room has 7 large windows on the right wall that let in bright sunlight during the day which does wash out the color significantly, but the set is still usable even during daylight hours as I like to watch football and basketball games on the big screen. Once the room is darkened, the colors and picture borders on the spectacular and a close rival to my OLED screens.
