Variation Reviewed: Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 5050UBe 4K PRO-UHD LCD Projector with 2600 LumensThis is a fantastic projector. The biggest pros being:1) Price/Value Ratio2) Image Quality3) Brightness (including during the day time)4) Automated lens shift with memory settings (nice for switching between aspect ratios)Cons being:1) It's huge and it's heavy (not ideal for my living room)2) It's not a laser which will be annoying eventually (bulb change)3) I've had some technical issues which I've been unable to resolve yet (it turned off randomly once without closing the lens, it has an occasional dimming issue)

I bought this as a replacement for a 14-year Epson projector that has served us well but was suddenly declining. The new projector is a vast improvement. After pairing with a new 4K receiver and HDMI cables, we are getting fabulous sound and pictures in our theater room. The improvement is noticeable. The only complaint is that Epson changed the format of the mount connectors on the bottom of the projector from the old model to the new forcing me to change my ceiling mount arms. This was a unnecessary hassle, but the projector itself is great.

I went in trying to get a laser projector because I needed the brightness for a pretty bright living room. Couldn’t consider short-throw because I already had a Black Diamond screen, so David at ProjectorScreen recommended this model because it fit my budget. What a great choice! It’s so bright, and the blacks are incredible! I really appreciated the suggestion and am very happy with the price point, but the only thing is that it’s huge!
