Great projector mount. A little difficult to understand which components I needed and which version would be best. In the end, I didn’t need the ceiling mount or the 3” drop tube. I mounted the pivot mount directly to the ceiling and then installed the plate on my 37lb JVC NX7 projector. The projector slides into the pivot mount and locks very securely. Feels very solid. Rotation and tilt are very easy to adjust with the projector mounted. Worked out awesome. I would definitely recommend this mount.
This is the first time I've had to mount a projector from the ceiling. I was always able to shelf mount it before, but after moving to a new house the room was too long to do that so here I am. Chief is basically the go-to mount when you read any reviews or do any research on AV forums so I wanted to protect my projector with the best mount possible. It does take some doing to mount this... I had to install 2x4 boards between joists in my attic but the instructions are very clear and very easy to understand. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this mount again and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from projectorscreen.com again. When this was first sent to me for some reason it went to the wrong house, not projectorscreen.com's fault, it was a shipping error by FedEx. But Norah Grady sorted us out and she was awesome and got us another mount in record time. Norah should definitely get a raise :)
A great mount no doubt. And I upgraded to a more expensive projector so I was willing to spend extra, which I did. Very sturdy and the minor adjustmemt screws to align the pic with the screen are great! Just seems pricey for what it is, but, for what it is for and for how long I will use it, definitely worth it.
I am going to use two 3/8” dia. x 7” (4” center spacing nicely matches the RMA plate) square U bolts for this. Kit only has one drawback: The M5 metric 20mm screws are too short to provide confidence in the attachment of the SLB 281 plate to my JVC DILA x790 projector. The length of the existing feet screws was approx. one inch and I don’t suggest giving up length here since only a few threads will bite after you add a washer. I swapped them for 30mm. I am also adding a split lock washer 1/4”.
