Introducing the Formovie Theater Premium, the latest innovation in ultra short throw projectors
The original Formovie Theater took the projection world by storm after winning the title of best ultra short throw projector for both the 2022 and 2023 laser TV showdown. Building on the success of the Formovie Theater UST, Formovie has unveiled the upgraded version of their smash hit ultra short throw projector: ladies and gentlemen, meet the all-new Formovie Theater Premium.
Get ready to Step Into Epic Entertainment with this brand new Formovie UST that offers enhanced features and superior performance for an unparalleled home entertainment experience.
With its cutting-edge ALPD 4.0 technology, the Formovie Theater Premium delivers stunning 4K resolution and vibrant colors, bringing your favorite movies, shows, and games to life with incredible clarity and detail. Its advanced triple laser light source ensures a bright and vivid picture, even in well-lit rooms, while the ultra short throw design allows you to place the projector just inches from the wall for a large, immersive display.
Whether you’re a movie buff, a gaming enthusiast, or just looking to upgrade your home theater, the Formovie Theater Premium is the perfect choice for bringing the big screen experience into your living room.
We've got the inside scoop on this new 2024 projector. Here's what we know so far about the Formovie Theater Premium:
Brightness and Throw Ratio
One of the biggest upgrades is the rise brightness on the Premium model. The new UST offers 2200 ISO lumens, a 400 lumen increase compared to the older version. The original Formovie Theater was already more than powerful enough for most lights on viewing environments, but with the extra 400 lumens, you can enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows in just about any bright room you'd find in your home. This is especially true when you pair it with an ambient light rejecting projector screen that's made for ultra short throw projectors.
Another area of improvement is the throw ratio. The new Formovie Theater Premium has a super short 0.21:1 throw ratio, compared to the 0.23:1 throw ratio found on the original. This means you'll be able to place your projector a few inches closer to the screen to achieve the same image size. It might not seem like much, but those few inches can make a huge difference depending on your entertainment setup.
Just like on the first edition, the Theater Premium will be able to create an image size from 80 inches all the way up to a 150 inch screen size. The extra brightness will also help improve the picture quality when you get up to those tremendously large screen sizes.
Picture Quality
Like the previous edition, the new flagship Formovie Theater Premium is a 4K projector that will offer owners 107% coverage of the challenging BT.2020 color gamut and an unrivalled 3000:1 contrast ratio. That's the realistic FOFO contrast and not the vastly inflated dynamic contrast readings advertised by many of their competitors. Both the color and contrast are largely derived from the advanced ALPD 4.0 triple laser technology that gives the projector bright vibrant colors and deep dark black levels. So like its predecessor, with the new Formovie model you're still getting an award winning picture on your projection screen.
One big way the engineers improved the the already impressive picture quality on the Formovie Theater Premium was with a new lens. This improved lens gives you clarity that's 1.25x clearer and more pure. with this upgrade, you'll get a sharper more uniform picture.
Another area of improvement in terms of image quality comes from a more careful factory calibration that gives you a more accurate out-of-the-box picture. This means less fiddling with the settings and more time to enjoy TV, movies, games and more!
Additionally, the Formovie Theater Premium offers improved HDR capabilities, specifically enhanced Dolby Vision. With the new and improved Dolby Vision Vivid picture mode you get an increase in the brightness output while watching Dolby Vision content. This means you're now able to watch your favorite movies with the lights on and still experience the full dynamic range Dolby Vision has to offer.
Gaming
As a gaming projector, the original Formovie UST left a lot to be desired. Not so on the new Formovie Theater Premium. The engineering team at Formovie put a lot of focus onto the gaming specs and it paid off. The new Formovie ultra short throw offers an input lag under 18 ms. This low latency, combined with ALLM mode and outstanding picture quality, puts the Formovie Theater Premium into the category of a true 4K video game projector.
Smart TV
Probably our favorite upgrade found on the new Formovie Premium is the switch from the Android operating system to the Google TV OS. This gives you access to a plethora of streaming apps. Most importantly by switching to Google TV, the Formovie Theater Premium becomes a true Netflix projector thanks to the native Netflix app. Now you can stream all of your favorite services including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max and more!
This new projector also features Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4/5GHz WiFi 6 for wireless connectivity.
Built-in Audio
The first iteration of the Formovie Theater featured an award winning built-in sound system. The new version takes that to the next level with a 15Wx2 Gen 2 Bowers & Wilkins integrated soundbar. So your audio is even more crisp, dynamic and powerful.
Formovie Theater Premium Vs Formovie Theater
How Much Will The Formovie Theater Premium Cost?
Much like the original model, the brand new Formovie Theater Premium will cost $3,500. This is surprising given the pricing increase seen on new models like the Hisense PX3-Pro and Samsung LPU9D. When you buy the Formovie Theater Premium, you'll be getting an upgraded projector for the same reasonable price. However, if you order your Formovie Theater Premium from ProjectorScreen.com, you'll save $500.
When will the Formovie Theater Premium Be Available?
Often times when these kind of announcements are made you've got to wait months to get your hands on the projector. Not to worry though, the Formovie Theater Premium will be launching on October 28th 2024. However, if you can't wait, you can pre-order the new Theater Premium today from ProjectorScreen.com so you can be the first to receive your incredible 4K UST.
